Last updated: 3 October 2026 · Effective immediately
B1nary ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your information when you use the B1nary application.
Information we collect
| Category | What it includes | Why |

| Device data | Crash reports, error information, app and operating system versions, device characteristics, and an app installation identifier collected by Firebase Crashlytics | Debugging crashes and diagnosing faults in released builds |
| Notification preferences | Your reminder choices, time-zone offset and a device notification token when available | To send study reminders you have enabled |
| Purchase data | In-app purchase records processed through Apple's App Store | To unlock what you bought. We never store payment card details |
How we use your information
- Provide and personalise your learning experience.
- Track your progress across courses and modules.
- Award badges and maintain streak records.
- Send push notifications about your streak and new content — only if you grant permission.
- Diagnose errors and improve reliability using crash reports.
Data storage
Account and study data are stored using Google Firebase. Service providers may process data outside your country. We retain account and study data while your account is active, until you delete it or request deletion. Crash reports and purchase records are also subject to the relevant service provider's retention practices.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database, push notifications and Crashlytics crash reporting. See Firebase privacy information.
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase management.
- Apple App Store — payment processing.
Each service has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to advertisers or any other third party.
Data kept on your device
Downloaded flashcards, display preferences and App Lock settings are stored locally. If you enable App Lock, your device performs Face ID, Touch ID or passcode verification. B1nary does not receive or store your biometric data or device passcode. You can remove downloaded courses under Offline Downloads.
Push notifications
We may send notifications to remind you about your streak or tell you about new content. Notifications are off until you allow them, and you can turn them off at any time — either in your device settings, or in the app under Profile → Notifications, where each type of reminder can be switched on or off independently.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete Account.
- Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@binaryapp.org. Deleting your account from inside the app removes your account and the study data attached to it, including your uploaded profile photo. It does not erase Apple's purchase history. Purchase-processing records may remain with Apple and RevenueCat under their own retention practices.
Children's privacy
B1nary is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
